Raid of Surrey, BC Supermarket Discovers Large Amounts of Drugs and Cash – BC

Large quantities of drugs and around $150,000 were seized by Surrey RCMP investigators in a search of a supermarket.

Officers executed a search warrant at a business in Block 10200 of City Parkway in Surrey on August 30, 2022.

“The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation focused on criminal activity following numerous drug trafficking complaints and violent incidents related to drug trafficking in the area surrounding the store,” Const said. Sarbjit Sangha.

“(An) investigation led police to believe the store was being used to facilitate drug trafficking in the area.”

Police seized 203 grams of fentanyl, 38 grams of meth, 17 grams of cocaine, 300 hydromorphone pills, 278 grams of cannabis and $150,000.

Surrey RCMP said investigators “will recommend charges against at least four (persons) of human trafficking and possession for the purpose of dealing in an illegal substance.”

“Fentanyl alone represents over 2,000 potentially lethal doses taken off our streets,” Sangha said. “We will keep a close eye on this place, which has been a flashpoint for drug trafficking and violence.”
